Data centers worldwide

Data Centers Intel is a directory of 9,709 data centers in 155 countries, run by 1,935 named operators. Each listing is one facility record with its location, operator, facility type and any capacity figures the operator publishes, with links to the sources it was built from.

Records come from the facility lists that 47 operators publish on their own websites, from OpenStreetMap, Overture Maps and Wikidata, from the Uptime Institute certification list, from cloud providers' location pages and from the Texas Comptroller's register of data centers. Listings from different sources that describe the same facility are combined into one record, and every facility page names the sources behind it.

Each record has a level and a type. By level, 8,617 records are single buildings, 527 are campuses of several buildings, 358 are market or metro areas such as cloud regions, and 207 give only a city. By type, 3,596 are colocation facilities that rent space to other companies, 651 belong to large cloud providers, 154 are cloud regions, 1,325 are enterprise facilities that organisations run for their own use, and 3,983 are not yet classified.
